Creative anti-theft suggestions :D
Hey guys, i'm just interested in some creative anti theft devices. Ones that are practical as well as feasable. Electrocution devices tend to not work. I was thinking of getting a spray nozzle, hooking it up to a hose connected to a smoke machine, and wiring it into my alarm, so the car fills with smoke. On the dashboard, there will be a nice LED warning that flashes "equipped with Anthrax anti-theft device". Wouldnt that be humorous. :) Razor blades would be a good idea, but will end up in a very pissed theif that might take his anger out on my leather seats. :P Any cool suggestions??

The stock system disables the starter, that's pretty much good enough.... UNLESS you unhook the battery and wair 5 secs, and then reconnect it. VOILA! alarm goes off and starter works fine again.... factory alarm system my ass :p:!
Yeah, i'd like something a little better than the stock one, w/o paying $300+ for a newer viper sytem or whatever. |

creative anti theft devices Not sure if the same bodily harm restrictions apply in Canada, but here in the States: remember if a thief is injured on your property (I/E in your car) he or she (or heirs in the case of death or incompetency) can sue you and your insurance company for those injuries. And if you didn't inform your insurance company, they could sue you as well. So your smoke device goes off while he is driving, and he plows the car into a family of 4 and your insurance does not cover others driving your car, you could be sued by the family of 4, and the thief. Or the device triggers while you are in the car accidentally (because we all know how stable a 10 year old electrical system is) and sends razor blades through your back or legs, and in the sudden pain you swerve in front of a large semi, and he dumps the truck into a guard rail and looses his entire load of gas... onto the highway where it ignites and pours down the storm drains... Guess who is responsible??? Hope you have a ton of insurance, but wait... if you had proper insurance you wouldn't need all that stuff... you would just need a good basic alarm. |
Man, the states is fucked ass up, your statment, Icemark, almost makes me want to become a theif just so i can "injure" myself on the "job" and sue the people i was working... um.. "with". :D gotta love the good ol' U S of A, LOL. But, Icemark does have a point, doing crazy stuff like that will only get yourself in trouble, or worse. On the other hand, this post is probably just for kicks anyways, so i would like to see a car that just damn explodes if someone breaks in, fuck all that anti theift shit, just pre justice the bastard.

i would love to live in the states. You're allowed to use the same amount of force as the person who is on your property. So if he has a crow bar, you can legally take your own crowbar to his head. boy that would give me joy!!!

Since I don't think that alarms are worth much, I got a quick release steering wheel. I take the wheel with me when I park... I have pics in the gallery...

I think that having something that is REALLY REALLY REALLY loud when the alarm is triggered, loud enough that it's painful to stay in the car, and loud enough that it attracts the attention of anyone in the vicinity just because it's annoyingly loud.

Actually, studies show that most people ignore alarms. What you need to do is connect a PA system, and have a message played when the alarm is triggered... something along the the lines of a little girl's voice screaming rape, or something to that effect. That would get people's attention (and certainly the thief's!).

Why even do any of the above! With my 2 alarms and a starter kill switch I wasn't sure If that as enough assurance.
I now have a switch that kills my fuel pump when I am not around my FC. I rely on It more than both alarms. It's real easy to hook up. You simply get a toggle switch (or In my case, a push button - On and Off switch, It looks much better and your not proned to knocking Into It when your driving) and mount It somewhere to your discretion. You find the main fuel pump relay, located under the steering column, the big yellow one. From there, you disconnect It and the wire that Is In the center, closest to the push connector used to release the clip of the relay Is the wire you will be cutting. From there you cut It and now you have to wires (that are cut) in front of you. Now join a wire to each of the ends and than plug It to the toggle switch. Some toggle switches, like mine, have 3 prongs. The third one was used for a ground so that It could illuminate when the FC Is In the "On" position. It Is up to you to see If your switch has this feature. Really not needed, but looks cool when Illuminated. 2 points here! Mount It where you are likely not to "kick It" when you are actually mobile. The results could be disasterous! Also, when you cut the wire to the fuel pump, you have very little slack left. I couldn't even get my soldering gun In their b'c It was so tight! So I got a little spade plug connector and broke of the actual spade. From their you are left with the actual circular tube (I'm not sure If I am sying this right). You then slide It In the wire join both ends than crimp the tube. Finally, I make no mention of disconnecting the battery b'c If you are to undergo this project I'm sure you are astute enough to know you must disconnect the battery! |

or, i have a creative one :D instead of alarms, just put a big freaking dog in the back of the car in a alittle compartment. And then when he opens the door, you have a little string attached and that opens the little little compartment, and then voila dog has a nice meal :D but make sure the dog likes you :D or, go chinese style and put a flame thrower under your car, and if they break in...Voila barbeque robber, what about...having an alarm that swears "step away from the car...'guy walks away' yeah you walk away..bitch" that would get some attention, how about a reverse fuel pump, that pumps fuel into the car.....wait a minute you dont want a burnt car :P those are my suggestions haha

How about putting an "eject pilot" mechanism similar to what Jet planes have. When the system is armed, the sensors in the seat detect that his ass doesnt quite fit the "mold" youve made in the seat over the past few years. Your car then goes into "targa" mode, sends a light shock of electricity thru your steering wheel (so the intruder lets go of it for a second), unlocks the seatbelt (if he/she is wearing it) and right before it launches their ass into the air, krazy-glue squirts on their head and a clown wig goes on their head with the aid of mechacal hands. Then you call the cops and tell them to look for the guy with the clown hair. The end.

how about you just put a huge spotlight mechanism that pops up in front of the windshield and blinds the shit out of the thief....and in the case of the stereo stealer...i think he will be too blinded by the trillion candlelight flood lamps, that he will end up fleeing the sceene. prolly give him sunburns as well hehe with all that heat. and make the lights flash like when they interrogate people(strobe light effect), that way the light dont generate too much heat to cook the inside of your car. just enough to annoy and distort and impair the thief's ability to steal under those conditions.
