Crazy NA idea
hey all,
you know the past few nights i have had alot of time to think on my Rx7 so i though hey since im an NA guy why not make my SE intoa really go getter response machine. SO i was thinking why not put individual throttle bodies on for the primaries and secondaries. wouldnt that be cool? and it should give it alot of nice response. so where can i buy some throttle bodies that have butterflus and maybe a bose for injectors? or am i crazy? |
I've seen a few people steal throttle bodies from the latest sport bikes, at least for honda's, but they seem to work well. you'd have to custom make a manifold though. depends on what you really want to do.
|
i was thinking like those from a 4AG motor or something like that but sportbikes yess, do you , or does anyone, know if those sportbike TB have injector holes? and butterflys?

^wow !! nice
Pretty scary fuel injection though... |
thats just crazy
|
WTF is that?!
|
omg i want that!!! whats involved in makign that and how much money does it take (and wiring)

Stand alone, $1200, Manifold + fuel rail + injector $1000... More than I can afford. |
its almost worth it, cuz in all seriousness that looks completly badass!!!

Right. |
Looks are nice, but performance wise it looks incredibly nonrestricting. the air and fuel shoot directly into the engine! theres no dynamic chamber or upper and lower manifolds to go through, its just a straight shot of fuel to the engine! wow!
I wonder how it performs, and how it looks when installed in the engine bay with everything else on it! |
It's a race engine... Built by Guru Motorsports i believe.
Somewhere near or at 300hp from a N/A bridgeport with no notching of the rotor housing at all. |
A straight shot of fuel, air, dirt, whatever.
|
that looks scary, I'd still drive the piss out of it. I would have mounted them in the individual intake nozzles, makes for less mistakes. Dam though that is fucking pimp. I have a spare s4 na that I'm gonna rebuild and my buddy just bought a new zx7r engine so I have 4 nice jetted carbs. They made his bike run lean as hell until he blew the tranny. I'M gonna try to rig up something like that but carb'd. The manifold will be no problem to make. If I get that bitch setup I"ll be sure to brag about it :D

WOW thats amazing. except i would weld on an extra piece so i could drill a hole for the injectors to sit in the throttle bodies, and give myself a little insurance. and prolly have some filters goin on top of em for paranoia sake
|
^^ meh, you mean inject perpindicular to the runners? There is a reason they point down the intake.
|
no not perpindicual. mount them underneather at a 35dgree angle into the intake

id swap my 13bt for that baby! na crisp responsivness beats the hell outta fluffy cushioned response of a T2 :)
|
Too all the people that think that engine would ever run without an air filter of some sort on it... really.. c'mon. :)
There is a cover that goes over all of that and gets cold air from up front of the car.. |

Capn, there's no reason why a quad TB set-up wouldn't work very well using IDA-style TB's. You would need a custom manifold, aftermarket EFI and a host of other bits. It would not be cheap, and it would not be justified on anything but a serious motor. If you're serious about a high-power NA motor, and have the skills and cash to do it, then it's something to consider. If you're planning on slapping this onto a stock or mildly ported engine then you're wasting your time. |
