Crank Angle sensor readings...

After I recently installed a new TPS, I can't get the car to run properly. It starts out fine then it falls flat on it's ass. Anyway, I got to checking the sensors, BAC(13.6), Leading coils(.05), trailing coils(.07) and when I got to the CAS, it read 257.3 on G1/G2 and 258 on the other 2. The manual says it should be somewhere between 110ohm and 210ohms. I tested another CAS on my '90 GXL and they were both at 157ohms.

Does this need to be replaced, it's on a '89 vert? And yes, I did search....

Sounds like you may have high resistance at the harness connector. Clean it with contact cleaner and retest.

Generally a bad CAS will cause hard starting but the car will run reasonably well as the signal to the ECU increases dramatically as RPMs rise.

Tangent: 'tis true. Here's my CAS's amplitude vs. engine rpm:

750rpm: 3.5V
1000rpm: 5.2V
2000rpm: 9V
3000rpm: 12V
4000rpm: 15.2V
5000rpm: 17V

At 2000 rpm (red):

thanks guys, still a newbie in the rotary world, but am pushing along to learn as much as I can without asking so many questions.
