Could it be the 2-stroke oil???

Well I have a new theory, and tell me if you think I am right or wrong, but I switched to premix, not to long ago and still havn't ran the car threw a full tank of gas with the premix it has gone threw about 3/4. And I put about 128/1 in the gas maybe just a little bit more than that. And from chemistry class you learn that liguids diffuse in liguids fairly fast, but does 2-stroke oil do the same?? And if it Doesn't could my car be smoking because the 2-stroke oil has settled at the bottom or top of the tank and is now all being burned at once since the car doesn't move nor does it get run very much is this possible?? I think this is what is makeing my car smoke because I never mixted it very well, but I also found raw 2-stroke oil in the lower intake manifold!! Is this or could this be my problem.

ya you need to move it around.. it'll mix in the tank when you start driving.

Roy James 05-04-03 03:45 PM

Make sure you get TC W-3 rated. I dont think it settles, my old FC i premixed and when i was swaping motors and shit it sat for like three-four months or so with gas in the tank, and when i peaked in the take to swap the fuel pump off there was still a nice greenish hew to the gas (the premix) so im sure it didnt settle. I guess you just get shitty premix.

TCW3

nothing else man. It will not settle for a long while(months)

Cory Simpson 05-04-03 03:55 PM

So it does settle out, and if it does, does it go to the top or the bottm, that may be why my car smokes because I havn't moved it in a while.

1987RX7guy 05-04-03 03:57 PM

no it does not man. Unless you used something that was not TCW3 certified. The standard means that it is safe for Fuel injected vehicles and that it will not settle for a very long time.

kep0ne 05-04-03 05:12 PM

yeah put the premix in first, then fill up with gas. it'll get mixed up real good that way, and it wont settle.

rotary>piston 05-04-03 05:14 PM

did you add the gas AFTER the premix? That helps to mix it all up in the tank.

Cory Simpson 05-04-03 05:15 PM

Ah dang that ruined my "It's the premix idea", well I looked at the jug and it is TCW3. Maybe I'll just run some gear oil in the engine that will make it stop leaking (that's a joke).

We just touched on this In the Canadian Forum https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...&highlight=oil
