Cost of clutch/flywheel install OR parts needed to do so
 

well i bought myself a new clutchkit and flywheel. engine is out of car at this moment to to a engine swap and i decided to put some new better parts in. question is if i install the clutch/flywheel myself what tools would i need(flywheel stopper etc..) and since im kind of rushed for time i may just bring it to a shop so does anybody know about how much it would cost to have a clutch and flywheel kit installed on a already out motor that doesnt have to be put back in by them?

With the engine out you will need a very big breaker bar and the nut for the flywheel, 2 1/8 I think or 54mm? Someone to hold the engine while you crank the breaker bar. A BFH to get the flywheel off and tools to take off the clutch, sockets and stuff. Also an alignment tool that sometimes will come with the clutch. And one last thing is something to hold the flywheel so it doesn't turn. Check out Mazdatrix or your dealer for that.

It is a very easy change with the engine out if you can get the nut off. This is for a manual right?? Because an auto you can leave the nut on and swap it to a light flywheel.

For a shop to do it I am sure it would be cheap, just need to get it there:)

yea its for a manual. i had a basic idea of what stuff i needed but i read in some artical that i would need something to hold the E-shaft in position so i was a bit confused. also, would i need to watch the position on the E-shaft and/or flywheel when dis/re-assembling the stuff? how about the tranny seals if their not in that bad of shape is it worth replacing anyways i thought i read RB recommends replacing them when doing clutch work but who knows if their just trying to make a buck.. :)

I just used an air gun and drove it off. Took a few attempts but it came right off. The flywheel took a few wacks with my 5 lb sledge, but it eventually gave. Putting back on was easy. While I was in there, I also changed out my rear main and the pilot bearing and seal. Make sure to go to autozone or something and get the alignment tool...shouldn't be more than a few bucks. Then slap it together, tightening the pressure plate bolts in a star pattern and torque to spec and I put a little loc-tite on em too...don't want those bastards coming loose.
