Coolant leak woes
 

Well my car sat for the month I was on break from school. I take it out to put some fresh gas in it and I smell coolant. Get it back home and theres obviously coolant leaking from something but not hard enough to determine where its coming from. It is dripping down the passenger side of the engine near the bellhousing.

Does anyone know where some detailed figures of coolant line routing in the engine are? I checked the coolant section of the FSM but it didn't have a good pic of all the lines around the intake.

I think the line thats leaking is the one from the engine to the throttle body near the fire wall on the passenger side of the engine. I got the hose off but it was a pain in the ass. To replace it I think I will need to remove the TB but I'm not sure it will be that easy.

Can anyone help me out with some wisdom from a similar leak or lead me to a diagram that shows all the coolant carrying lines in the engine bay?

My car leaks coolant from the passenger side also. I had it checked at R&R Rotary they said they didnt find anything. And today when i drove it to school (Still at school) i saw coolant dripping from the passenger side again..WHAT THE HELL!!! Can somebody help out on the coolant leak?? :Kill1:

did you check the hose that plugs to a nipple in the firewall?

no i havn't do u think thats would be the problem?

i'd say it a good chance. i believe that's the hose that put coolant to the heater

It's that 3/8" coolant line from the top of the rear engine plate to the TB.
It's hot under the UIM & that hose gets toasted.

I think i found the line but im not sure.. what should i do with the coolant line?

I fuckin hope its that line. Its in the hardest place to get to. I didn't feel like taking the intake mani off so there is hardly any room to get my hand in there and work. Damn those springy hose clamps. I'm about to head for round two. I think just removing the valve that the line runs into will give me enough room to get the job done.

Moving the UIM aside is the easiest way to do it.
Leave the UIM & TB together.

It you don't mind loosing the cold start fast idle.
Those of us in warm climates often remove that coolant circuit & plug the nipples.

Cool Ill have to plug it. I got a line on there without taking anything off and have the bruises to prove it but I dont think the line is on to well. I found the other line in the same circuit that was also leaking and I think every thing is fixed. Not totally sure though I thought I saw a little more steam coming from somewhere in the engine compartment. ugh. Ill be putting on new upper and lower rad hoses and maybe the return from the heater core. That would make everything holding coolant called a hose in my engine bay new.
