coolant leak overheat loosing coolant not sure where? HELP!
 

So I have a 87 Rx7. I was driving it and it overheated pretty bad it was smoking. there was holes in my fill cap and I had thought it shot out of there so I got that new part. well after that it was fine it was still loosing coolant pretty fast and getting hot and sometimes wouldn't start. a few weeks later it started smoking out the back when i started it and then it would shut its self off and it wouldn't start back up soo i figured i flooded it. soo I let it sit and it started up, well since then i took it in got the idle agusted higher cause it was shutting off when i came to a stop and they figured out why it wasn't started *i thought* well a few days later it wouldn't start and i had noticed the night before the engine was running hott and soo i stoped driving it took it back in and they said it was leaking on the radiator and they said into the exhuast and into the engine somewhere but they couldn't find it. the car will still start up it smokes alittle bit more like a flooding smoke. not a coolant smoke. and im not sure what to do next? help?

Oh and when i filled it with coolant and drove it the coolant went into the overflow and filled it up?

your motor is toast...get it rebuilt. The coolant seals in the motor are gone. Word of advice..do NOT overheat a rotary....get a good aftermarket gauge, and monitor it closely after you get the new motor put in.

Second piece of advice...it sounds like you're taking it to a mechanic that doesn't know anything....stop taking it there and find a rotary/rx7 specific shop close to you and go there.

Is my engine going to be warped?

Parts of it could definitely be warped. The way you said "noticed it running hot" seems to imply that you continued running it hot after it already had been for a while.

The only way to tell is to put a machinist's straight edge on it when the engine is apart per the shop manual.
