Compression test?

I just did a compression test on my car and had a question. I did not have anyone to crank the engine for me so i figured i could still test to see how many psi of compression i had still, even though i know the more important thing is to have 3 consitent bounces. anyways my question is why when i got out of the car to look at te gauge the needble was slowly falling. everytime i got out of the car it was at about 75psi and falling. I dont know if it matters but my engine was recently rebuilt using 3 mm seals and only has 5000 miles on it. Oh and i made sure everything was tight and it was not the gauge leaking. thanks,
Mike

double check

You might want to borrow a different compression tester. The relationship between the tester and the engine are totally set apart. When air is compressed into the tester, at al time the tester is supposed to hold the psi. that fact the the tester will not hold psi, has nothing to do with your engine. If your in dought try the same exact compression tester on another car, your going to get the same results.
