colant from somewhere
 

hey everyone. im in denial right now and i need to know where colant could leak from other than a coolant seal. please i need sugestions. thanks

Hose? radiator?.. you gotta tell us where its seems like its coming from... look udner the car.

under the car it looks like its comeing from the rear of the motor. this is why i have no idea where its comeing from

could be the heater line that connects to the firewall and the back side of the motor?

there's a coolant supply nipple for the TB thermowax on the rear iron. they usually rust/corrode so maybe thats where your leak is coming from.

It could be the heater hose on the back of the engine by the oil filter it connects to the firewall and just underneath the oil filter. its prone to leak due to the oil that might have leaked from doing all those oil change and messing up the hose.. look for white powdery residue left behind by the coolent.

2 things, on the back there are lines that go through the upper intake mani and there are 2 coolant ports on the lower intake mani.

another problem is that u mite think that its commin from the rear but it could be coolant drippin from the front of the motor and runs down and drips from the rear of the motor.

do a presure test wid a pressurizer and get a bright light and look around the front pulley area above the front hub. theres a chance that the gasket is bad or there is no gasket at all and if there is a gasket, make sure that there are shim washers, if there isnt a gasket and u used rtv, make sure that the shim washers arnt there.

u can also check the hoses on the radiator while the car is runnin so u can see if its drippin down.

also, after u get ur car running, squeeze the radiator hoses to see if there is even pressure in the whole system. if there is then ur car is not taking a beating from the heat. if there isnt, dont run or drive the car till u fix the problem.

thanks for all the info calrx7 and aaron. i have to go to work right now but i will check that within the week. i know the system has pressure because i always check my rad hose. if it is the one by the oilfilter where would i get a new one?its nt like my car is killing coolant. i just notice that when i either drive for a while 1 hr or just get on it my resivoir(sp) tank gets low. :(. again thanks for all the help

If you are visibly seeing a leak, then it probably isn't the coolant seals. Coolant seal leaks are usually identified by magically disappearing coolant with no external leaks (plus some white smoke, obviously.)

i have no white smoke whats so ever. but i also heard that there needs to be a decent leak for there to be white smoke.

If you can see the coolant leak and have no white smoke, I woudn't worry about your coolant seals.
Also, it doesn't take much of an internal leak at all to get some white smoke on startup. Even if there is a tiny leak, it will slowly go into the combusion chamber while sitting since the system is pressureized.

i still have my cats on there though. im thinking all the cats would stop the white smoke
