Clutch sticks
 

Ok, my slave and master clutch clyinders where leaking so i went to the junk yard and found replacement they seemed to work just fine not bad for 13 bucks, anyways the pressure is really good and all so far.

But today i was driving it first then i went to press and shift to 2nd when my petal didnt come back up i was holy shit. so p ulled over pull it up and was surprised to find that it was the exact same pressure as before it got stuck.

So i was wondering what caused this, I bleed my system very thouroughly (*sp) and double checked every connection. so anyone have an idea why it got stuck today??

Was the fluid low? Are you leaking any fluid? Check the master cylinder for leaks. Don't forget to check the carpet in the driver's foot well too. Sounds like you got your moneysworth from that junk yard master cylinder. Mine has been leaking and was supposed to put it in today but Autozone ordered the wrong master cylinder. They gave me a brake master cylinder. :rolleyes: Anyways, they got me for $70, oh well. It also came with a 1yr. warranty. I think victoria british has clutch master cylinders for around $50.

I am not sure what to do to fix it. I used to have an old ford probe, and it did that. I sure did make for some fast ass shifts though :-D I was lucky and it was just at the grab point to sit worked perfect, but the clutch prob hated me!!!! :D

mine does that too, i also think it's not engaging all the way because the clutch slips when i floor it.

Mine would do this, the internal seals on the master went bad, so there were no leaks, it was leaking internally around the piston. I had to tie my foot to the clutch pedal with my shoelace to pull it back up so I could drive home!

hell with autozone or pep boys, get parts from malloy mazda. You want to talk to Ray Crowe. I don't have the phone # handy, do a search in the forum for malloy mazda and you will find it. He always gives good prices on the 7 parts, and will usually give you cheap shipping

well you are still not sure if it is the master or slave clutch cylinder or maybe if the hose is the cause.

1st find out which one is at fault (pressure test the cylinders, mechanics know how to test this).

Then you have 2 options:
1-rebuilt the cylinders yourself (half the price of new) or
2-just buy a new one from a car part store.

i noticed today the clutch on my car is slipping could this be caused by the same thing that's causing the pedal to sink to the floor? maybe it doesn't engage all the way or something?
