clutch or something else

i have a 86 na gxl and i can't burn rubber when you sift to 2nd gear.I bought this rx-7 sport and took the engine out of that one and put it in mine and that car was burring rubber when you sift to 2nd gear and a lot too. but when i put the engine in mine it did not and i put my old clutch in because it was not that old the guy put a new one right before i bought it and the one out the other car i didn't know how old it was. so could that be the clutch or something else and if it is the clutch and am thinking on buying a act and where is a good place to buy on from

86 na does not have an LSD differential and the clutch is pretty soft. A stiffer clutch would help but remember a stiffer clutch may kill your streetability (ie nice shifting).

BTW - what's your dyno numbers (ie RWHP + 15%).

yes it does have a lsd differential the tag on the differentail says it has a lsd and when you have the car in the air the wheels spin the same way i don't have any dyno numbers yet i am trying to get a apexi afc or a hks afr. what kind of dyno numbers should i have my mod are racing beat road race header,k&n intake, msd 8.5 wires, the tb mod, redline oil for transmission and differential and a 89-91 intake manifold,no a/c, no egr, and i an thinking about taking of my omp and runing premix

Im sure someone could help you with your problem if it were clearer what your question is.

What I have gathered is that you took the engine and clutch out of some other car that used to "burn rubber" in 2nd gear but since you put it in your car it don't burn rubber anymore.

This could be due to several factors the biggest one in my mind is Tires. What kind of tires did the other car have on it? Maybe the other car did not have a LSD and the one wheel wonder chirped or slipped the tire 2nd gear. Since your car obviously has a LSD this would also make a difference in traction.

Did you adjust the pedal after putting the engine and clutch in? Was the Pressure plate bolted on to proper torque specs?

There could be many reasons why you car does not slip tires like the other car did. Chances are that your car is faster because the tires are not slipping.

that is part of what i am saying.the tires are the same because i took the wheels off the other car and i don't think the other car had a lsd and the car was doing two wheels when you sift to 2nd gear and it wasn't just a chirp.no i did not adjust the pedel after putting in the engine.i also think this can is slower than the other one .the other car was a sport i think because it had five lug wheels but had no power windows and no sunroof
