Clutch Q (searched)

ive found a lot of threads on this but none of them have the same scenario as me, i think it might be the same prob, but just want to make sure.....i have a lot of play in my clutch pedal before it actualy disengages the clutch, if my car is moving and i press the clutch in (just in the play area) i get a chirping but once the clutch disengages it stop and when i am letting the pedal back out it does not make the chirp, the other threads say its the throw out bearing or the pilot bearing
sound the same?
any way to test if it is one of those?
thanks in advance for the help

Sounds like the throwout bearing is going bad. The throwout bearing pushes aganist the pressure plate when you push the clutch pedal in. As for the play in the pedal, if you look at the clutch pedal, behind it you will see two nuts that you can loosen and turn to get rid of the play in your pedal.

You can look up detailed instructions on doing this in the FSM.

thanks i was tryin to figure out how to do that, it was really annoying....so should i just go ahead and replace it now?
or you think it will last a while and what kind of damage will it cause if it does completely go?

ive never worked on a RWD clutch assembly before... they should be the same as a FWD right?

Depends on how bad it sounds. It could go next time you drive the car or a few months from now. If it does go id imagine the bearing itself would sieze and you would hear a nasty grinding sound when you push in the pedal and the bearing makes contact with the pressure plate. Eventually it could tear up the pressure plate. Honestly if it is a little squeak I wouldnt worry about it until it gets worse. You could try using the clutch pedal as little as possible but dont go on any long road trips or stuff like that!
