Clutch Pedal Sticks
 

I've searched and got an idea of what might be causing this but want some more opinions. Ok so the other day my clutch pedal starting sticking to the floor slightly so i pulled it back up a few times after that and since then it has been fine, but the pedal has felt way different than it did before these problems, seems like when i would let out the clutch it grabbed rather quickly, quicker than before and pushing it in felt like it has more travel than before. Then today the pedal stuck completely making me drive with out a clutch until i good make it to a parking lot. My fluid in the master cylinder is full with no visual leaks on it or the slave. Both were replaced about 3 years ago so thinking on of them failed. but i have also heard it could be a bad clutch throwout bearing or even a pilot bearing both of those are about 5 years old. I know when the throwout bearing wears out it will make noise. But ive only heard a slight whirling noise if i listen closely to where the front of the transmission is, from inside the car. Its not loud really cuz u have to concentrate hard to hear it and am thinking its just the clutch spinning making that noise and has been doing this for a long time prolly since the clutch was replaced by a technician so want your opinions on what it could be. First, try bleeding the clutch again.

yeah i was going to try that so do u think its hydraulic related. And i did noticed there is a small gap in between the fork pivot ball and the rod.

9 times out of 10 its probably the hydraulic part. Either air got in the line, the Master Cylinder or Slave Cylinder is bad. If bleeding the clutch doesn't help, then try pumping the clutch a bunch of times. If it feels like normal after that then its your Master Cylinder.

Started bleeding the slave cylinder got fluid out when clutch pedal is not to the floor and did not seem to get any pressure out of pedal. Any more ideas if the slave cylinder or master cylinder is bad.

WTF did you just say? I'd replace them regardless... if you are going to have to replace one, then replace both at the same time.

sorry what i meant was after attempting to bleed the pedal still had no pressure it just dropped to the floor.

yup, refer to above. make sure all the lines are in good order as well!

had similar problem a few weeks ago. it turned out to be my clutch master which I removed and rebuild using a kit from advance auto. The kit cost $ 16 dollars.

Sggest you check the clutch slave to see if it's not leaking. you will need to remove the transmission inspection cover closest to the clutch slave cylinder to verify this. If the slave is not leaking than the problem is with your master.

+1. Sounds like you have a bad master or slave so you might as well change them both. Pm spooledupracing for them.

go OEM for hydraulics. They are much more reliable than parts store discount rebuilt cylinders. Mazdatrix is a good source.

had the same prob replace ur slave and master cylinder DO NOT USE REBUILD KIT they usually go out with two weeks of using them learned this the hard way good luck

yup yup, I think you can get a new slave and master for somewhere around 125$
