Clutch Oddity: Pedal drops to the floor while cruising on the freeway...

Brand new Exedy kit on my S5 T2 with maybe 300 miles on it.

No leaks and functions just fine while cruising around town. No slipping under hard acceleration and it never acts funny. Sometimes makes a whirring sound when at idle.

When I get on the freeway everything is fine until I reach the on ramp and the clutch drops to the floor. i put my toe under it and pop it back up then press it couple times to get pressure.

Anyone know why this would happen?

i forget which of the two it is but i think its the slave cylinder? correct me if im wrong guys. all i know is last time that happened in my 6 i replaced the slave and master cylinder

i would get a re manufactured slave and master and be done with it. rebuilding them doesn't always work (i know this from experience)

a rebuild can be good, but you really have to get your finger in there and see how the bore is. before you go buy another clutch master and/or slave, check for leaks. Make sure its bled properly.

BTW who installed your clutch? 300 miles sounds lil fishey if u just had a clutch job.

Pressure is leaking past the seal in the master cylinder and returning fluid to the resivor and there is no pressure to push the pedal back. Replace or rebuild the master. If you want to you can replace all the hydraulics(master, line and slave).

mine was doing the same thing.I replaced the master and the slave and it has been working great since.

I noticed after a few more runs it only does it at high speed and makes like a rattling/bubbling sound. around 4K I think that is 80 (my speedo doesn't work)

I'm wondering if the transmission isn't seated all the way to the engine.
