Clutch Hydraulics

I have the stock clutch hydraulics and a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. Lately, I have had a lot of trouble getting into 1st, 2nd, and sometimes Reverse. I found a troubleshooting page at Mazdatrix's Web site (I can't find it now.) that suggested the clutch hydraulics were bad. I have examined the master and slave cylinder but cannot see any leaks, but I assume there can be an internal leak that would not be visible. When I press the clutch in, a squeak comes from the engine bay, but I suppose it may just be the pedal squeaking. Any suggestions on how I can figure out what, if anything, is wrong? Do I just need a new transmission? Thanks.

Nathaniel

your probably right about the pedal squeeking. you might want to try buying a rebuild kit for both your slave and master cylinder, all the kits have are new seals and o-rings to insert into the old slave and master cylinder if that doesnt work then im not sure. good luck

Thanks for the reply....I wish I could get some more input about this, but as I suspected the RX-7 Forum's slogan should be "Over 19,000 16 year old idiots who want to drag their RX-7s, and growing!"

my clutch slave squeaks. sounds like its coming from the engine bay :). how do i know? i changed it...then i heard a squeak :).

im not sure whats wrong with your setup, like if its hydraulics or not. i recently replaced all my hydraulics with mazdatrix stuff. tokico clutch master and slave cylinders and an SS clutch slave line. i have heard rebuilds arent really worth the time/money but i dont know about that. the clutch hydraulics parts are relatively easy to change out though. have fun, hope your problem isnt something more serious.
