clutch goes to the floor

Hello All,

So I have a 86 rx7 and its been sitting on the street in front of my house unable to be moved. The clutch pedal is just sitting on the floor.

I have just replaced the slave cylinder and tried to bleed it, but the pedal has not changed positions. So is it the master? What are the symptoms of the master going?? The fluid resevoir has not changed depths, and seems to be full.

I had my son pump the pedal vigourously and then as he holds it to the floor I loosen the slave bleeder valve. A bit of air sprayed out along with fluid. We did this numerous times. But the clutch is not springing back up for use.

Let me just first say that I am not mechanically inclined at all, so please bare with me!

Whats up? Help pls!

Thanks -
T

Master is bad. Its most likely not sealing internally properly. After market clutch master cylinders are notorious for going out. Mine just went out a few weeks ago. Had it on the car for 8 months.

Clutch hydraulics are very simple, so dont worry your not in over your head. If you have already replaced the slave, i say replace the master, and inspect your hose. If it shows any wear i would recommend just replacing everything at the same time.

master is bad or your line has a hole in it.

or maybe he's not bleeding it correctly...
