clutch/flywheel replacement

Its time for me to replace the clutch on my 87 TII. The car is pretty much stock except for and opened up exhaust. By time I'm done with it I expect it to make no more than about 250 to 275 hp (hopefully).

Does anyone have any experience with stock clutches/pressure plates and flywheels under similar conditions?

I have been looking at ACT clutch kits ($330) and RB 17# flywheels ($390), but its alot of cash. I can get an OEM clutch kit ($140 from Advance, Power Torque brand?) for alot less, but I don't know if it will hold up to the abuse.

Anything else I should be concerned with on this job?

Help? Thanx.

get the ACT clutch.. they are great from my experence.. if you are doing this job you will need some air tools, i heard you need to torque the flywheel to like 300ft/pounds somethind like that.. or get a huge wrench arm and twist like hell...

p.s - jeffpullano there no way in hell your pushin that amount of hp outta a 87 T2 with more mods and proper tuneing.. exhaust gives a lot but not that much! :)
