Clutch / Flywheel removal questions
 
Hello all,

A couple of quick questions, when removing the flywheel and clutch from a rotary adn refacing the flywheel and replacing the clutch with a stage 1 racing clutch is there anythign i should be worried abotu or concerned with??, is there any real difference between changing the clutch in the RX7 and any other car? Also about refacing the flywheel anyone have a spec that it can be refaced too without exceeding the limit??

umm... your questions a pretty broud... and its all been covered alot... so you should search.. but some things you should know are......

-Flywheel nut is 2 1/8'' you need a socket (rent it)
-spec for flywheel is like 63 something... like .oo63 i think
-rent a pilot bearing puller and use that for the pilot bearing....you might need to put little pieces of wood to ad length to the arms (youl see)

other than that its all pretty, download the facotry service manual from fc3s.org

How many miles are on the tranny. . and is the car gonna be a daily driver? i replaced my stock clutch with an ACT stage 2 four puck with 170k on tranny and it was not a good idea. Take into account the tranny may be old and if your gonna put a big clutch on there its gonna put more force on the trans.
