Cluster working then not.
 

I've had my dash out for a while now and everything was working but my blower cuz I plugged 2 wires that I shouldn't have and it stopped working. So now since the dash is out, I fixed my blower by just wiring it directly to Pos/Neg with a switch to turn it on an off. My cluster was working when I got home then it wasn't when I started the car after I was done the blower stuff. I went and wired everything back to how it was and still the cluster wont do anything, no speed, no tech, no volt, no gas, no nothing. Any idea as to what would cause this? All my fuses work fine and everything is as it should be as far as wiring, no signs of shorts that I could find.

Ok, so my Speedometer works, I just never went fast enough to make it move so that all good but I still can't figure out why my Tach, fuel, volt, water temp meters aren't working, my oil one hasn't worked since engine swap but what ever.
Right now I'm using my Microtech dash unit to see my water temp and my RPM but I still don't understand how all this just randomly stops working after cutting the wires that plug into the blower fan. Anyone? I've checked all my fuses again, and no burnt wires. All wires are still plugged into the Microtech ECU's (though I could have knocked some lose during fan wiring operation, but I didn't).

The speedo is mechanical so it'll work as long as the drive cable is connected.
All the others require electrical power and clearly you have somehow interrupted it.

Either there is a connector undone or possibly a cut/pinched wire.
Retrace your steps.

k ill take teh blower unit out and look for a pinched wire. I only cut the 2 to the blower so i doubt that has anything to do with the cluster. Thanks, ill go look at that now.

Yeah, no pinches, no brakes, no cuts, all the wires are clean. I also use to have light for my dash and now they don't work either(before the gauges went dead). It's as if the cluster isn't getting any power or something. Do I have a bad cluster? or u think it's something else?

My guess is that you damaged the already weak solder joints on the guage cluster when removing it, most likely you lost your ground connection (which would explain the lights and the guages failing together. I would look very carefully at the solder joints and the pins in those little round connectors.

I sure hope that you get it working soon.

Yeah I actually did take it apart to look at it and nothing seemed out of place, burnt or lose, any way to just give it power and see if it work? or were does the ground go for the cluster?

I have this problem too and it happened out of the blue!

If your cooling fan stays on and you are poping the gauge fuses then it could be your cooling fan relay. After blowing about 40 fuses and my gauges not working i traced the ticking to it. Otherwise that is odd and check the fuses and heard the trans switch can cause some problems with it.

All my fuses are good, i did notice that the gauge fuse looked a little melted but after testing it it was good and replacing it with a new one did nothing. I noticed a while back my right healight stopped working and traced it back to some jacked up wiring. It seems that the previous owner cut the wire harness on the drives side and wired it up incorrectly. I thought i had fixed the problem but i wonder if this might have something to do with my jacked up gauges?
