clock problem
when you open the door it will turn off and go back to 1:00 or if you start it but if you just turn the power on it will be on and keep time. what might be the problem
|
Mine has that same problem. But it happens sometime while I'm driving to.

i don't think it is the Clock/Warning Light Cluster it might be something else
|
Don't really think it could be anything else that I know of. But hey you never know, I'm stumped!

it only goes to 1:00 when you open the door or start the car and when you driven it keeps time
|
Mine does that sometimes but I think it also does it when I downshift really hard. So that was my problem. You might want to try that. It's not that hard and doesn't take to much time. It's worth a try.

I think it's weird that it sets back at 1:00 not 12:00 anybody know why that is????
kleach |
That happens to me, I'll set it to the correct time, and as soon as I turn off the car and restart it, it goes back to either 1:00 or whatever it feels like. Not sure what it is either.
|
but on mine if you turn the power on it will still have the right time and if you start it will goto 1:00

defective clock
minor changes in amperage and resistance will affect your clock if it is aged. Mazda really screwed up with the clock and as it ages it becomes much too fragile. There is really no fix for it other than replacement. I tried opening mine and resoldering like I did to fix my airflow meter and CPU but the circuits are just too fragile. Good Luck!

I think you need to learn how to solder correctly. -Ted |
try this- when you resolder the beast check the blue electrolitic cap on the back of the pc board. If memory serves me it is 47uf 25v. Replace this, making sure to properly align the neg terminal. Radio shack,$1.99. Worked on one of mine with similar problems.

yeah listen to RETed and if you still have the problem follow rx302vert.
|
and if if you try to turn on the lights inside it will turn off and when turn off the lights it goes back to 1:00 and the lights don't work so that is a problem too
|
Every single clock / idiot light problem (except fuel light once) was fixed buy COMPLETELY resoldering the whole light/clock cluster. I've done LOTS of them, they always work for me. Make sure you remeove ALL old solder (some people just retouch the joints, this only works temperarely because the factory solder is poor quality) use lots of flux and re-solder it, then finally giving a good cleaning with a flux solvent.
|
Check your fuses too.

I Have this exact problem.....and it only started happening when I installed my new CD head unit....
I think I may have a wire or two that Need to be earthed or something... Now my clock, interior light and factory alarm don't work... does anyone have a wiring diagram (one that I can actually make sense of) available? Cheers |
ok i got the lights to work now. it only goes to 1:00 when you start the car so i am going may be re-solder and see if it works
|
Anyone got that wiring diagram?
|
Here I look and say hmmm this one has a lot of replies I probably don't even have to look at it...
Wrong Has anyone checked to see if the dome light works???? Should be the fist thing you do! the dome/room fuse is the same one that keeps the memory on the clock (and the radio, and the ECU, and the AT-EC and the theft unit). Note the 7.5 amp fuse that runs the dome lights through the L/R wire and all the above and then some: http://home.earthlink.net/~icemark/FC3Power2.jpg |
what could be the problem with the clock it only goes to 1:00 when you start the car and i changed the fuse for the lights and they work now. the only problem is the clock now so do any of you know what it might be

it keeps time when you it is off or the car is on but it only goes to 1:00 when you strat the car not when you turn the power on
|
Resolder the thing it worked for me on my car too. Very easy to do or get another one off ebay .
