Clear tailights! for the RX-7
what do you think about these lights?
|
or these
these i took into a little computer program made em all white....what do you think? nice?
|
sorry, there they are
|
Looks alright, I guess. Personally, I would just get some s5 lights. I love mine...Oh wait, I drive a s5!
Seriously, those do not look too horrible! Do it if it makes ya happy! |
i would do the 1st picture........but, i dont know how
any ideas? |
Those look pretty good for clears. Nice to see you'd like to keep the stock look a little.
As for constructing them, I haven't the slightest idea. I'm pretty sure there are some guys that have done something similar, but couldn't confirm that. Good luck with those either way. Make a good set and you'll make some money too. BTW, watch out for the po when you get em done :D |
That would be sick if i could make some...then sell em! what colours do you like best? Red and Clear? Or all Clear? I like the Red and clear.....but please, this had been viewed like a million times so please people give me some feedback!!
|
the all clear are ugly, not to mention ilegal. you need to make the border the same color as the car too
|
|
i think they all clear look sweet and i would buy them if i could find them
|
To get that plastic out you have to disassemble the entire light. Which means pulling apart the seal between the light casing and the lenses. Good luck not cracking the 15 year old plastic. And getting them back together.
|
Ok i know of a guy/ site that makes CLEARS look here to find out
Clears and Different clears all this is found atmain site |
:( :( :( :(
Ricers make the baby jesus cry |
|
:hahaha: |
DC450,
My personal preference is tinting the lights darker. Haven't seen any 89+ or 86-88 clear lights aftermarket, but I'd go with the 89+ ones if you want the smoke/clear look. Everyone else, We just talked about flaming other users :( Take it over to rx7forumS.com if you want to do that. -- vaughnc |
My opinions:
All clear lights look horrible, unless they are original equipment. All owners of clear lights should have instead, bought a pizza. All owners of clear lights have an inadequacy complex, they want people to look at them. No modified lights will keep the moisture out like the stock lights will. All clear light owners will be laughed at by me. After your modification to the tail light assembly, I want to buy all of your PERFECT not-clear lenses :) Mike |
MikeL,
Mostly they don't look good because they're overdone. I must admin I drooled at the ones on a sliver hatchback civic. Silver on silver with red accents - Love the ones on the upcoming 215HP mazda 6 though :D |
Number 1 why should i buy a pizza i make 400 a day. Number 2 i wish he made Euro lights for my 91
|
Obviously, our opinions differ on the lights. That's okay with me! I like to read all opinions.
Here are some of my opinions: 1- All cars should look stock on the outside except for a very few, very minor changes like, maybe the size of the exhaust system, which is, by the way, functional. 2- Anyone who strays from that, is either very young or, has a mental problem (small penis?) 3- Anyone who states how much money they make, makes a lot less than stated and, is a very young person or, a person who never matured. 4- Almost anyone who has clear lights has a slow car(13.5 seconds or slower). Well ahole & armpit car owners aside....
It's a style/culture thing. SO Cal and South Florida do things differently and their influences ripple through the US :) Sorta like concept cars. Take what looks good from their wild designs and mold it into a sweet body / aftermarket accessory that isn't as flashy but enhances the car. Yes I agree most people go overboard but some of the influence I've used and can enhance the look of the car correctly. So far I've added a few little accents like a small zoom zoom sticker on the TII hatch glass & vert rear window, mazdaspeed shoulderpads, mazdaspeed e-brake cover, "mazda rx7" license plate cover (hard to find that anymore), moonroof windguard, etc.. They dont' stick out but enhance the car a bit :) I also like changing the color of the hoodscoop (ie white on black, darkred on black, etc..) although I havent't done it on my TII. BTW - replaced my damaged dark blue nose with a black one - and I kinda like the black on blue :) I've been thinking about tinting the 89+ tail lights as well. Car still looks OEM/clean - so I'm happy :) You don't have to "convert" to their culture, but keep and open mind and incorporate what looks good :) -- vaughnc |
vaughnc, my post was not dirrected at you :)
|
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYBE would look good on a 10AE but definately not on any other FC
|
I'm not so sure about either one of the clear lights. I'd never seen one on FC and WAS interested in them until I saw those pictures. Personally, FCs would look much better with darker light assembly. I guess it's da 80s thing. Newayz, think i'll keep my stock 10th anniv. ed. taillights with monochrmatic white trims. I still think it looks great.

I agree with Node.
Node, I hate your avitar! I told you that months ago, my feelings have not changed. Neither has your avitar :) Mike |
