Cleaning fuel injectors without removing them
 

Sometimes my car idles like crap and runs not so great, so then I buy some FUEL INJECTOR cleaner and dump that into the fuel tank and after going through that tank of gas, everything works great, the car runs smooth, idle is fine everything is just peachy! I've been using Lubromoly JECTRON fuel injector cleaner with great success! Just wondering though, I've heard of this PROFESSIONAL INJECTOR CLEANING service at some of these service shops. They hook up some concentrated Injector Cleaning shit to your fuel rail and let it run for like 5mins, until the can is empty. I heard this gives the injectors some real thorough cleaning! Anyone tried this service before? and is it easy to do on an RX7?, how accessible is the FUEL RAIL..that's what I'm worried about.

Only two ways to do this: the easy/cheap way, and the hard/expensive way

Easy/cheap: buy two bottles of RedX, 44K or similar product, and dump them in a full tank. Go through this tank like there is no tomorrow (preferably on the highway). You could repeat if you'd like (especially if you have to do the trip again :D)

Hard/expensive: take your Rex to a shop, and tell them to ultra-sound clean them. Brand as new. Costs about 50-60 bucks I think....

The secondaryt injectors are fairly easy to get to. All you have to do is remove the Intake Elbow, and Throttle body(I think you can leave then expansion chamber on). THen just its just 2 12mm bolts to remove the fuel rail. Make sure you depressurize the fuel system first. The primarys are under the upper intake manifold, or extension manifold(if you prefer)(or VDI manifold on 89+ cars). Same deal, just 2 12mm bolts to remove them. Just be careful that label, or at least remember where all the connectors, and vacuum lines go.

A company called RC Engineering cleans injectors for $25 a pop. They do an excellent job I've heard and provide you with a printout of the before and after flow specs.
