Checking for blown struts
Hey guys, please bear with me, as I did search but I couldn't find anything for my situation. I know to normally check for blown struts, you just see if you can bounce the suspect corner up and down. However, with my lowering springs, I can hardly push the car down at all, so that test doesn't really work (I tried and my car barely goes down, let alone bounce). However, I tried jacking up the front end of my car, and I noticed that even though the body goes up, the wheels stay put and don't come up with it. I just want to confirm that this is a sign that I need new struts before buying a new front set.

dude if they are original they need to be replaced. bottom line. unless your car has significantly less than 100k on it.

The suspension is designed to keep the tires on the ground. The tires will stay in contact with the ground until the car is high enough off the ground that the struts are fully extended.
