check engine light on and then off
searched for a little while and found nothing on what i want..
i drove the car around all day yesterday and today, but suddenly today after work as soon as i got home the check engine light came on. i checked the fluids, temp, and all that shit.. everything was normal. i turned the car off and back on again and the light went off.. has anyone experienced this? what could it be? |
If it comes on after driving for a while and not as soon as you cut the car on its something like a sensor going out or to that affect. Possibly o2 sensor?

When the Check Engine light comes on, the warning code is stored in the ECU.
Pull he code(s) and you'll know exactly what's going on. |

Check your grounds they might be dodgy.

Pull codes as Clokker suggested and you'll have some insight to your problem.

You don't want to check for codes. Do you?

Places like that are set up to read from OBD ports, which we don't have.
Satch has already linked you to the procedure- about as straightforward as you could ask for- is there a reason you don't want to try? Worst case scenario, you learn nothing. Optimum outcome, you discover the root cause. |

"All that crap" consists of grounding a couple of wires and then counting a flashing light.
I'm sure you can do it. |
