Cheapest place to pick up LSD and 4.33 ring/pinion set

Just like the title says. I'm looking for a place to pick up an aftermarket diff like a 1.5 way Kaaz unit and a 4.3 ring and pinion set.

I have an 88 T2 and I have broken 2 diffs and I'm trying to build something that will last alot longer.

The cheapest I've seen so far is.

Drift Factory has them for $786.25
Part number SBZ1310 Kaaz 1.5 way

And the Ring/Pinion from RX7.com for $449

What broke? I thought the S4 TII diff was supposed to be very strong. You might have some luck searching the classifieds for the gear, but it's not that likely.

The first diff started to act like an open diff. Sometimes if you turned one wheel the other would turn the opposite direction. When I swapped the fluid I found clutch pack pieces.

The second diff blew when I was launching at the track and I heard a pop then it fell on its face. I suspect the spider gears in this one or maybe a couple of clutch packs breaking. When I turn the driveshaft by hand and the rear lifted I can see the passenger tire barely catching. When I spin a tire it spins with the other tire just sitting there or you can see it barely twitch. I'll find out when I swap a new diff in when really broke.

I want to put in a brand new aftermarket unit and I haven't heard of anybody breaking any Kaaz LSD's. Used diffs are just going to do the same and break or are already worn out.

You can rebuild the differentials, Mazdatrix sells the parts

Its almost $600 for the clutch's if I'm reading the parts right. Is it really worth it to rebuild the stocker?

if the ring and pinion arent broken or very well worn (as if they were mal-adjusted earlier in life), you should be able to use them over.

The ring and pinion should be good in my original diff housing, but I want to try out the 4.3. I know it isn't much more different than the stocker 4.1. I read somewhere its like a %5 difference or even 2 tenths of a second down the 1320. I'm still trying to read more into it.

well you can do what the 1st gen guys do and swap in a ford and iirc some kia rear ends where used. theres a ton of info in their section (im also an SA owner :) )

You only need to buy what's out of spec. The FSM has the specs for discs. You can take it apart and measure everything. Chances are that one part wore prematurely, leaving the other parts with less wear (because the clutch pack wasn't tight).

A first gen and a second generation RX-7 have totally different layouts for rearends.

Not even the same kind.
