cheap (but good) replacement struts?
 

well, the car isn't stock anymore anyways so there's not much point in me getting oem struts.. I wouldn't even bother replacing mine except that one of them is bent where the hub/spindle assembly mounts. It's too bad too, because they seem like they're in great shape.

what's a good upgrade for not a huge amount of dollars?

is this something that I can install myself or is it worth the money to have it professionally done?

The strut mounts at the top don't appear to come with most struts, are they re-usable or do I need to buy new ones? where can I find these?

I'll obviously need an alignment at that point, does anyone know what specs are good for good all around handling + high speed stability?


My car seems to have an awful lot of - camber in the rear, wtf is up with that? I had the car aligned last year and the alignment shop never mensioned anything about it though, so I guess it's ok. Is it possible something is wrong here?

Back in 99' when i was in the market for a good set of quality yet cost effective suspension components i looked at many different brands. I picked tokico HP (blues) they are relativly cheap $110 EA front and $55 EA rear (what i paid). They are very good quality units for those who are not looking for a complete race track suspension set-up.

If Tokico is out of the question you could also give KYB a look, they are pretty close price and quality wise.

Your rear camber problem is probably due to the fact that your vehicle has worn rear springs (common in FC's) and your camber is off because of the pre-load on the rear suspension. If you plan on lowering the vehicle with aftermarket springs you should look into a rear camber adjust bar to replace the factory solid unit.

i bought tokico blues last year for a similar price. i think i paid 330-345 for all 4. i found a set of 4 KYB ADJ.'s for $399 from PST. lemme know if youre interested and i'll see if they have a website (i have the catalog). i think its "performance suspension technologies."

tokiko blues are good, if you can afford it kyb agx's are better

whats a cmaber adjuster bar, like camber links? I have mad camber on my rear after new suspension(KYB AGX &Eibcah Pro-Kit). Is there a problem with too much camber, or no?

if your looking for reasonably priced, decent stocker replacement... id hit up some KYB GR-2's... ive seen them on EBAY for 235 for a whole set.

Tokico blue's = better than OEM TII struts?

how can I tell if my springs are worn out? the car has ~60k miles.

KYB GR2 shocks are garbage. The only good thing about them is that there cheap. Their high speed damping really stinks, i got viberations after i hit large bumps. (high speed damping means the SHOCK speed, not car speed) and the low speed is barely ok, just a little firmer then stock.

i have kyb agx's, no complaints... i got mine for extra cheap, hookups baby!! :D
