Charcoal canister removal

I believe I understand the fairly simple process of removing this feature but does anyone have some insight into whether it has to be removed in addition with other emissions equipment or can it be removed just by itself. Also, are there any cons to this idea or just one less thing to think about? Thank you.

If you remove the rest of your emissions stuff, there's no point to keeping the charcoal canister. It absorbs fuel vapor from the gas tank, but it has a limited capacity, and has to be purged to the engine on a regular basis. The stock emissions control system handles doing this purging, and if you remove all that stuff, you won't purge the canister anymore, so it just waits a few days and then starts to stink of gas.

I removed mine because I took all the emissions solenoids off, and I'm seriously debating putting it back on and tying the purge valve to the 6th port actuation or something.

It can be removed by its self... you'll need to vent your gas tank though... All i did is take the rubber O-ring off my gas cap.

Actually, if you remove the charcoal canister, the gas tank will vent itsself through the hard line coming up to the firewall. Plug that off if you want it to vent in the rear.
