Changed my front brake pads, now I have a horrible noise...
...during only right turns. And its coming from the passenger side. It sounds like the pistons are actually rubbing on the disc or something. Really horrible sounding scrape ( but low pitched... ).
What could I have done wrong? All I did different with that caliper was take it off to get easier access to the pistons. I dont know what I could have done wrong. Theres not much to mess up on these, is there? EDIT: It makes the noise on right hand turns all the time. Braking, not braking, whatever. It doesnt matter. It always makes the noise. |
Take off the pads on the passenger side to see if there's any 'deformities' to the disc. It might just be the pads breaking in, but that doesn't sound like it. See if anything is messing the disc up.

Well I found out it was actually one of the caliper bolts rubbing against the brake disc.
One of the bolts had 3 washers on it and the other only had one. Not giving much though to it, I laid them together and didnt worry about it. When putting the caliper back on, I didnt even notice that I had switched them around. The top bolt was just barely rubbing on the disc itself. :o I changed them around just now in the garage and all is well again. |
