catching on fire!!!

while my car was at the shop the other day (just getting routine tune-up things) it caught on fire...my mechanic said that an oil line either near or connecting to the intake manifold sprung a leak and combusted as the car was idleing...at first he thought the turbo was on fire but after he extinguished the flames had his doubts. I need help, has this ever happened to any of you, I don't think this guy works with rotary's to much so I want to get this right. Any help is appreciated.

There is a oil feed line to the turbo that connects directly to the center cartrdige on the turbo. It is quite possible for an oil leak from this spot to catch on fire.

that actually happened to me a few weeks ago when I was replacing my turbo.... the lines was leaking right onto my exhaust manifold and caught fire..

Ya or the Pulsation dampner could have been leaking and caught fire.

likely the FPD, it is a common occurrence for the FPD to leak and cause an engine fire, alot of 7s went to the wrecking yard in the sky because of this...
