Carpet in laundry machine?
What would happen if you washed the stock carpet in a laundramat?
Would the foam backing get wrecked? What about the sound deadener glue? |

i put the rear carpets in the wash, cold. they clean up ok, smell much much better, and its not much work

I've pressure washed carpets with great results. Use some good carpet cleaning solution in a spray bottle then blast it. I've even used DL hand cleaner on tough spots.

Steam cleaning would get some of it off before you throw it in the washer prolly. And yes, the washing machines in laudramats are way to small, and I doubt the one in your house is big enough..hahaha =D

I had the carpet out of my '87 TII and it looked like hell. I took it to "Auto Magic" in Westminster CO - one of those dentless repair and minor body shop. They bleached and re-dyed it for $50 and it looks like new. Best idea I've had in my restoration project. - k - |
