carburetor question
ive got a 1988 fc on a rebiuld engine. its the stock na engine. im looking for a carburetor to put on but im unsure what the best option is. i also have full racing beat straightpipe "turboback" exhaust to hook up to the carb.

The single best carby you could put on this thing for tough sound and performance is the WEBER 48 IDA.
some driveability will be lost but that is what you pay when driving a tough rotor...LOL alternatively a DCOE sidedraft or a Holley (not recommended IMO) cheerz, |
Um, you want the NA engine if you have an NA car, otherwise its pointless to pay a little less and not even get a header.
Also its about preference, Weber IDA rocks, but its not exactly a very streetable carb, the Holley IS however (its a carb still). Nothing wrong with either, I personally will perfect the 48MM Weber IDA. |
For a stock port engine I really liked my Weber 48DCOE sidedraft with the Racing Beat upper intake piece. The Weber 45DCOE would work just as well. For the sake of simplicity get a 1st gen distributor. Used setups like this are much easier to find than the IDA stuff.

call up peirce manifolds, and get the one peice, it looks way cleaner, id post pics, but damn my comp crashed, if u search my name there will be pics.

nevermind i found it, got the distributor from a gslse- and coils from u know where, but u can run stock ignition some how..

Don't go carb'd. Only gain I personally think it has over the efi system is that you don't have to pull any fuses when it floods. It actually hasn't ever flooded for me...
