Correct me if im wrong but i always thought that with a carb set-up that you need a lower flowing pump??

Not lower flow, lower pressure. You can use EFI fuel pumps with carbs bet you need a pressure regulator that can drop the pressure from ~70psi to a more carb-friendly pressure (5-8 psi I think).

According to the FSM, the NA fuel pump flows at least 1.3L/min (which is good for about 200fwhp), and the Turbo fuel pump flows at least 2.2L/min (which is good for about 350fwhp). This assumes the pump's getting full voltage.

so what do i do then? and also what do i need as far as ignition changes if any.....

You best bet will be to use a low pressure fuel pump, aactually thats all I know!
