car won't start in cold
My car won't start at a constistant paturn. The weather here has been about -5 for the last like 3 days. I finaly got it started and let it warm up. then when i went out the next to to run it, it started and then i had to go to somthing before i left, so i turned it back off, when i came back out to start it agian it did not want to start back up. Just wondering it the car just does not like to start in cold temp or maybe the gas tank has some moisture in it. becuase when i did get it running it did not run very good. please someone help me out please.

Did you check Sub-Zero Starting Assist Device?
|
thats the thing i don't know if i have one could that be the problem. i don't know where the tank is, so i don't think that i have one. cna ou tell me were it is
|
Pass. side in the very corner near the firewall... should be labled
|
yah i don't think that their is one on my car, or is the tank just off. could that even be the problem or could their be water in the gas. becuase the tank is lower and is it possible the there has been some condensation in the tank?

Maybe it flooded? It could have possibly gotten very cold in a short period of time when you turned it off to go do whatever. Maybe it didn't get up to operating temperature that time.

if you're cutting the car off before it has a chance to warm up to operating temp it's probably getting flooded. it's just a flaw in the computer that lets it flood if you run the car for a few seconds and then shut it off, especially when it's cold outside. or maybe your motor is losing compression making it hard to start. the sub zero device has nothing to do with it. that thing works better in the trash.

i'm pretty sure that the engine is good it think that your fisrt throey is probl;y right thanks
|
I've re read your thread. It seems you've shut your car off before your Motor has reached normal operating temperture. It's likely flooded. Follow this procedure to get you back on the road.:) http://www.rx7.com/tech/unflood-fc.html

silverrotor: the cold start assist does absolutely nothing? so removing it damages nothing?

the cold start assist system (I think it's actually called the sub-zero assist system, NZconv knows the actual name, but I can't never remember it) is to be removed or disabled.
Mazda said so in a TSB. You probably just flooded your engine. I agree with the poster that says to make sure the charging system is up to snuff, in particular the battery and the cables (the starter may be a little weak too). hugues - |
The Trailing are most importen for cold cold cold starting, that little hole does help to keep them from getting wet with fuel and thoes it starts on them and in time the leadings dry out and starts fireing. Think this ant ture try disconnecting them and see for your self when it freez over how easy it is to start
|
Trailing coils will not effect starting.
Sub zero assist will not effect starting. In fact, remove the system and cap off the nipple on the intake. As for the original poster's starting problem, check all the basics. Plugs, wires, good battery, good grounds, good starter, etc. |
hey aaron before i started to drive the car. i did not replace the plugs. would that be the most possible reason for not starting. because isent cold weather hard on plugs.
|
pretty sure that it was just flooded because when i pulled the plugs out they were just about triping gas off them. if i have any more problem with it i will let you guy now thanks agian for the help
