Car wont rev, please help

ok so im pulling out of a parking lot, and my car will not rev past 2 grand, so i turn it off, and restart it, it starts, and sounds like its on one rotor  so, then im like wtf, i pull over again. turn it off. then turn it back on. It revs fine, then i let it idle down, and it wont rev past 2k rpm. its still sitting in the parking lot now. have any ideas what it is, its not trowing any codes. no clues:confused: please help thanks alot

You're in limp mode. Read the ECU codes.

MOP not working probably.

Well i checked the codes, nuthin came up... i got my car home, i think one of the spark plug caps, the second rotor trailing cap to be exact, was off... so i pushed it up and the car ran fine. could that be it?

Well this is pretty much limp mode if you can't rev past 2k. The only thing I remember that S5's are caused to go into limp mod is the MOP there are probably some other triggers of limp mod but I don't remember them. Check the lines see if they are broken and check the MOP itself. I think there is a procedure in the FSM check it out. :)

alright, thanks, also, could the omp work sometimes, because after the parking lot, i drove it and it seems fine. If the omp is broke, whats the cost to fix it. also if the omp is bad will it thow a code, or not always, because im still getting no codes
