car wont go past 3500 rpm

I have a 6port turbo fc 86 gxl full Bridgeport with 550 primary 1000 secondary rtek 1.7 and it will not rev past 3500 rpm just fuel cut or igniition cut or something it just falls on its face runs fine till 3500 but takes a dump after that let me know what yall think ?

polito Racing 03-12-14 01:19 AM

Are your secondary injectors kicking in?

johnnyy07 03-12-14 01:43 AM

It doesn't run lean so I think so

johnnyy07 03-12-14 01:44 AM

I'm not sure that's the problem don't know if it fuel cuts or if it is ignition cut

polito Racing 03-12-14 02:26 AM

Where are your afr's at?

johnnyy07 03-12-14 02:31 AM

11.5

polito Racing 03-12-14 02:35 AM

But do you see a change when you start having issues? You shouldn't have fuel cut issues with the 1.7. Are you using a piggyback to control the 1000cc injectors? You might be dumping too much fuel into the engine when the secondaries kick in.

I am trying to come across a safc but I don't have the extra money for it but I have heard of cars with my setup running 1000 no problem

NativeBeggars 03-12-14 08:18 AM

I'm far from your setup. I'm basically stock, but still a 6-port. 3500RPM problems are typically OMP codes throwing the car into limp mode.

If you had a 6500RPM problem, I would say check fuel, tps, etc.

Do you still use your OMP or do you premix?

johnnyy07 03-12-14 01:19 PM

Premix my omp block off plate is leaking would that cause a code ?

satch 03-12-14 01:23 PM

You have an S4 which does not throw a code for the OMP like the S5's.

Can you rev past 3500 rpm in neutral?
Can you slowly drive through 3500 rpm?

johnnyy07 03-12-14 01:33 PM

I can rev up a better in nutrel and in second I can work through a little bit but other than that its pretty consistant

NativeBeggars 03-12-14 06:41 PM

Thank you for the info satch. Not being an S5, there's not really much help I can provide.

satch 03-12-14 08:28 PM

You can create load on the engine, necessary to activate the secondary injectors, by unplugging the TPS and pulling the vacuum hose off of the Boost Sensor. When done you can free rev in neutral and once the 3800 rpm level is breached the secondary injectors will kick on. You can compare how it revs in neutral w/everything connected versus when under load. You also might have a clogged cat.

johnnyy07 03-12-14 08:42 PM

I have a 3inchvstainless straight pipe and when at idle it is very hesitent but will rev and when a load stops at 3800

satch 03-12-14 08:57 PM

You can try regrounding the ECU sensor grounds. The easiest way is to tap into the Boost Sensor ground wire and run it to the engine block.

johnnyy07 03-12-14 09:07 PM

Did that ? Going to ground the actual evu ground next v see if that work
