Car starts up but the throttle seems weak an stalls

just finally got the car to start but another problem.. when you blurp the throttle it just seems weak.. When you revv it up and let the clutcg out it just kinda stalls . any ideas.. bad gas and premix or clogged fuel filter

Compression test.

bumpstart 10-01-12 06:41 PM

TPS calibration.. without it the ecu cannot time the accel pump feature with the tip in throttle movement

RotaryEvolution 10-01-12 07:11 PM

or timing
or inoperative leading coils/plugs
or plugged fuel filter
or weak fuel pump/pump voltage
or large vacuum leaks

start with the compression test> then check the TPS and adjust along with a sweep test> then check timing> then check fuel pressure.

its the white pin connector under the metal cover .... goin into the fuel pump. when on accel it isnt getting volume.

RotaryEvolution 10-02-12 12:20 PM

are you running an aftermarket fuel pump? the series 5 bulkhead connector at the top of the tank is a known failure point when adding more amperage draw from larger volume fuel pumps.

Alpha-7 10-02-12 05:30 PM

yes sir . do u know where to buy a bulkhead connector at ?

RotaryEvolution 10-02-12 06:21 PM

you will have to fabricate something, there are companies that sell passthrough connectors but for ideas i would suggest checking the 3rd gen section. many of the same issues they run into with larger pumps apply the same to the series 5 FC fuel pumps.

the benefit you have is you can swap in a series 4 fuel pump and sending unit housing which will bolt to the series 5, the sending unit needs to be swapped out and the arm that hold the pump extended since the series 5 tanks hold a few more gallons and are deeper. that is what i have done in the past to upgrade series 5 cars for high horsepower without any of the more painful modification shenanigans. series 4 already have decent and already sealed bulkhead connections, series 5 has a tiny pinned junction block, it generally cannot carry much more than about 10 amps before it burns up.

just lay the series 4 unit next to the series 5 and you will see what you need to do.

cant find the bulkhead connector for a s5 already have the sending unit part .. do u have any or know a secret place that has one for sale
