car randomly dropped on one wheel, hitting quarter panel.
 

today I've noticed that my car is uneven at the driver back wheel. every other wheel has about a 2 finger gap from the top of the tire to the fender/quarter panel. The driver's side rear tire is touching the quarter panel. if i press on the rear corner of the car, there is no suspension travel at all on that one side. I'm assuming its a problem with the spring, didn't get a chance to check it out cause its already dark. any ideas as to what it could be or what else should i check? ill post some pics tomorrow morning if it would help, thanks

i was thinking that, but it was so random. the cars been in the same spot for about a month, so it couldn't of happen from driving. would a spring just randomly give out like that?

Age can make suspension do strange things. Id wager the shock either snapped the mounting point on the trailing arm, or the upper strut mount broke. Im basing this on just the information you said of "no suspension travel" and "the wheel is touching the quarter panel.

break loose the lug nuts and jack up that corner and pull the wheel off and get a look at it.

yup first thing in the morning, im gonna take it off the wheels and check it out. i just took a quick look with a flashlight and i can see that the spring is fully compressed.

right now its a Big Guessing game.
Is the car Rusty at all?underneath>?..anything can let go if things get Corroded.Hell the shock base could have busted and the spring goes Boing!,and the car sags due to that.Another idea is that one of the bushings on the spindle assembly is rotted to hell and just let go.
I know you are just looking for ideas as to why,but only Looking at the car will get you your real answer.
Jack up the rear by the diff,from the rear,or jack up from the Subframe mount on the drivers side and then remove the rear wheel.You should be able to see what happened.

i know, just wanted some ideas as to what to look for, possible fail points. but underneath is mint, everything was in good shape, no rust at all on the bottom. when i moved it in the driveway just now to get a car out, it still felt fine, no noise or obvious signs that something is broken, its just low.

i was going to get springs for it regardless, just not right now lol. any suggestions as to what i should get? my list of parts needed before i put plates on it just keeps on growing :(

just fucking jack up the car, take off the wheel and inspect everything... making a list isn't going to help you unless you order the part that is broken also.

if you can't tell it urks me when people keep asking questions rather than doing the obvious.

I'm sorry its not my fault its pitch dark at 5pm. Taking the wheel off did absolutely nothing more than when I looked at it last night using my phone as a light. Nothing is physically broken. I took off the struts and had the shop compress the springs to check them. Both sides shocks were a bit weak, but I don't think just that would cause it to drop drastically on one wheel. Either way im going to order new ones. Are eibach springs decent? Cause the po had put them on

well i'm guessing something is broken and not the strut, like the VTSS control arm which has broken on other people's cars and given similar symptoms. start prying on things to see if you have broken links anywhere.

I tried prying on everything while everything was still together, nothing was broken, the only thing i noticed was that the bushings on sway bar links were broken apart and kinda hanging. whats the vtss control arm?
