CAPN' we're losing power!
so friday i was on my way home when all of a sudden my car got insanely turbo loud. like the exhaust got louder but i could really hear the air moving.. like that whoosh sound. i got home and popped the hood with it running. a stud broke on the turbo to dp flange and the other nut was loose. i tightened the one down and checked the other and tightened it up. the 3rd stud is still broken resulting in an exhaust leak... i am going to just put on this other turbo cause it will be easier than trying to extract this stud. but i didnt think this issue would affect power... i am only running .4 bar where as before i was running about 1 bar. big loss in power and big gain in noise and fuel richness... anything else that i should be looking at that you guys think i should be checking? its annoying. im not driving it right now cause of this and im sure its a relatively easy fix.. just looking for ideas. maybe the header to block is loose or has a broken stud too?

I would expect a loss is power. FIx that problem and im sure your car will be back to normal :D

I'm only running stock 5ish psi, and I only have 3 bolts/studs holding on my turbo manifold. I dont know what it would feel like with all 4 bolts on, but it seems/feels fine. Boosts at 3k rpm, holds it, and doesnt seem to run rich. I got 25 mpg on my last trip to the girlfriends and back. ( I dont have the o2 sensor plugged in.) Maybe yours is just worse than mine. I still hear the exhaust leak at lower RPMs, but doesnt bother me that much. After 5000 rpm it starts to make a cool little whistle. :D My exhaust seemed to have got quieter.

im running stand alone so its a bit different.. its tuned for higher boost so when its not making it its having problems. exhaust leak before the turbo kills it off. i hope thats all it is. i dont want it to be low compression or something like that. maybe a vac leak somewheres
