I heard it's possible, but it may take a couple tries.

I have push started my 88 SE numerous times. My starter brushes wore out and I had to push start it for a week until they came in at the local parts store.

I would always park at the top of the hill in the parking lot I have to park in. That way I could just shove it down the hill and jump in. Dump second gear and it is all good.

The unflooding procedure requires you to crank the engine for 5-10sec (WOT, fuel pump off) to clear out the fuel. I doubt you’d be able to push it by hand fast enough, but you might be able to do it by towing the car. Be really careful though or you’ll launch yourself up the tow car’s backside when it fires! A squirt of AFT in the leading plug holes might help too.
But, why don’t you just fix the starter? Even if you unflood it, an engine with a fried starter isn’t much more use than a flooded engine.

push starting a flooded rotary is much easier to start than cranking it because you can get the motor turning faster. I got a motor started that was completely blown except for one chamber.

Agreed.
