Can NOT having an ACV F*** up your IDLE??
 
The emissions on my car have been completly removed ie; the acv, air pump, cats, maybe the EGR valve (not sure)
My problem is my idle is really F***** up and im blaming it on the removal of my emissions. Basically what my car does is that when it warms up generally it idles fine. It stays around 1k then when i drive it goes up too 2k and usually stays there. The lowest it goes is 1500k. Its very erratic and does not follow a pattern at all except staying at 2k all the time.
Aight so are all these problems due my not having emissions?? Or should i be checking else where??

maby a vacume leak? you caped or t'd together open vac lines right

The question was directed at the acv. No/yes it can/cannot disturb the idle(should submit the reply right now and go no further). If the acv had an internal leak past the antiafterburn valve inside, and was aiding the idle mixture in the past when it was on the car, and now you removed it and put a blockoff plate in its stead, then you now can see how that would effect the idle.

But if the acv was good from the start, then no, it can't effect the idle by its removal. Is your blockoff plate on good with a good seal???? Spray some starter fluid around the blockoff plate and see if the idle is affected. Did you plug the hose you removed????

Your don't know if you did/did not remove the egr?????? Odd. Did you make a good blockoff plate and gasket for the egr that you might have possibly removed/not remove???

Well the truth is i dident due the work the person that owned the car before me had someone remove all the emissions, so thats why i dont know. From what i can see all the hoses that were removed are properly capped from what i can see. As far as the EGR valve i assumed it was removed because its part of the emissions system but i dont know for sure.
Where is it?? And if it is removed is it bad? Also wtf is/does the EGR valve do??

On top of the center housing. Almost the center of the engine. Mazdatrix site has some pictures of it. Hard to see because its got the dynamic chamber directly above it. The problem could be several things. Next time its idling at that high rpm, remove the electrical plug from the bac and see if it abates.

Or it could be the throttle cable has no slack in it. Or the fast idle cam is sticking/rigged wrong etc. Or throttle plates sticking open. Or the timing being advanced waaaaaaaay to much. Or a vacuum leak(spray starter fluid around the manifold and hoses to see if the idle changes), or the cruise control cable toooo tight. Or twelve dozen other things.

I've removed all that you have, Including EGR Valve and Secondary Plates and have a consistant 750 rpm. Everytime. I will go through the Cold Start up, (mind you I left the Thermowax and hoses attaching to It I just removed the Plates).

With the ACV, besure to cap all 4 nipples that go to and from the It and remove the Anti-after burn valve. Finally, be sure to seal the plate on really good.
