Can a N/A engine be converted to a turbo

If you were to change the internals on an NA engine to low compression rotors, counter weight, etc... could you turbocharge it or would the turbo intake manifold not bolt up correctly because it is a 6 port? Or could you utilize those extra ports for more power? Could you some how modify that to work? This is just a theory that crossed my mind as i was reading my manual before i went to sleep. This should be an interesting topic i think..

Myself and another forum member locally were discussing this earlier today. I have plenty of engine parts on hand so we compared. The t2 intake would bolt on to a 6 port engine, but it wouldnt lie up very well(2 outer ports) without some griding on the intake manifold outer ports and engine 6 port section. Id bet a lot would be lost, but it could be done.

The more you thin about what youll pay in shipping to source ad buy all these parts and then install them all together and still have a ghetto rig, you could have bought a whole t2 engine and part of a conversion and have it done right.

See my post in the f/s section btw.

If you search you will find a incredible thread that includes something like 32 (or so) pics of someone on here doing this mod :) That thread should be sticky... I'll try and find it and get back to you..
