Camber settings

I have an 88 n/a without the electronic suspension. I was looking at my strut towers and noticed that the circles and squares on the camber were set differently. Does anyone know how they are supposed to be set? Anyone have a link to a site that shows how to adjust them properly?

Thanks in advance.

If the car is straight (has not been in an accident) your best bet is just to go pay the $60 or so and have an alignment shop check it for you.

They will have all the right tools to check it correctly.

Here is a diagram of the front strut tower:

...................|--------------| C
.................|........................|
...............|.............................|
.Front.......|.............................| Ignore periods, just filler so it will
...............|.............................| line up right
.................|........................|
...............A..|--------------| B

The standard setting (corner with no letter) is no correction. The A setting has a +30' caster correction. The B setting has a +30' camber and caster correction. The C setting has a 30' camber correction.
Stock specs: 0 degrees 20' camber, 4 degrees 45' caster.
Max difference between wheels: Camber, 30'. Caster, 45'.

There's your info. Just mount your camber/caster guage on each wheel, record the values, and apply corrections as needed. If you want to put both struts at the no corrections value, just loosen the 4 mounting bolts, drop the mount enough to clear the tower, rotate to the unmarked position (black dot), raise it back up into the tower, and bolt 'er down. Will this give you correct camber/caster? Only a guage can determine that. :o :D
