Camber Plates vs. RB strut mounts!
Ok I've got Ground Controls with KYB AGX struts, and I need to gain that extra bit of lowering in the front... I was told camber plates will do the same job as the lowered strut mounts, but also offer the adjustment of the neg camber... My question is, do the camber plates lower exactly the same as the strut mounts, or is it more or less? Which would you recommend? Thanks in advance, and yes I searched... :icon16:

I had cusco camber plates on my old FC and I'll definitely say that they did not help in lowering the car at all. I was running GC's/AGX's and the thing would not drop. I called GC and they said their camber plates would lower the car more in the front do to a difference in design. I would reccomend finding someone else who has this setup (I believe Ddub used to?) and talking to them about it. Good luck!

dDub had the RB mounts on his... I was actually going to buy his but was too late... :(

The Camber plates I was looking at were the Tein pillow ball plates btw...

Iv got the Tein camber plates, and they do not lower the car.

You've got ground controls?? springs right????
I was getting ready to bitch slap you because if you have a ground control coilover setup and you're asking about lowering the car a tad....well....jeepers ;) I don't know of any camber plates that would lower the car by any real speakable amount. Especially given the fact that most of the designs place the end of the strut lower in reference to the body because the moving plate is under the stationary plate. |
You really should get the camber plates. If you lower the front too much without you'll probably have too much camber and that will cause excessive inside tire wear. With GC coilovers you can get shorter springs to get the front lower. That's what I'd reccomend, shorter springs and camber plates.

call ground control and order shorter springs. say they come with a 7" spring....they can send you a 6" spring with the same spring rate...presto!! 1" extra lowering ability.
