calling KYB AGX users
 

What springs are you using with them, what settings are you running (depending on street/track), and how did you go about finding those settings?

I'm currently finishing off installing a new set of KYB AGX and Tanabe GF210 springs. i will probably leave it at 2 front / 4 rear or whatever for now, but after i get an alignment i will play around with it, and at the track (auto cross or road course) it would be nice to have some tips from people that have done that.

I'm using the same springs as you on my KYB AGX, Tanabe GF210. For the street I just run 2 front 4 rear. When I spirited drive in the twisties I go 3 front 6 rear. Haven't really messed with it too much more than that.

Same setup. Came up with my settings at HPDE, autocross and backroad events. 3/6 or 4/6 for harder driving which is 70% of the time and 2/4 for long highway runs.

have eibach springs on them and 4 in the front and 8 rear for the street. Not too stiff for me

+ 1 for tanabe gf210, good pick. LOVE my sustec's.

looks like 2/4 is good for street. but i guess there will be differing settings depending on the person also.

only thing i was worried about was the spring rate of the GF210 needing more damping from the shock, so running higher settings would be better. since KYB say the AGX can be used for stock springs, and the GF210 are more than twice the rate. i'd figure cranking up the AGX all the way to 4/8 might work best.

Tanabe gf210's with my agx's, Love the ride....................smooth!! 2/8 are my settings.

I run racing beat springs with my KYB AGXs. Im still playing with them but for most road courses I run the fronts at 4 and the rears between 4 and 6, whatever feals best that day. I tend to like the rear at 4 or 5 on the track rather than 6 or 7.

On the street I run them all full soft.

If you are just starting out at the track i would run 3 front 5 rear and go from there.

who are you guys going through to get them... if ebay. who is a respectable seller w/ geniune tanabe springs. i know of the tein scams on there and dont want fake springs. so post up your sources. thanks.

RB springs directly from racing beat, packaged with thier sway-bars.

I buy my AGXs from NOPI. Lowest price i found back when i bought them.

Rb spring here. I got my AGXs brand new for $360 shipped from an ebay vendor. On my door in about a week. Full soft for the streets.

My car is just daily driven so 90 % of the time i leave em soft. once in a while when I plan on going up the canyon i crank them down a few clicks.

Got my AGX from eBay, same place a lot of people do. it's probably the cheapest place to get a set of new AGX struts.

As for the GF210, i believe i just got them off a forum member (they were new).

anyway, as i mentioned earlier, with higher spring rates running the shocks at full soft might not be best. if the shock underdamps the spring then you will get a bouncy ride, especially on bad roads.

If it tells you the age, mine were bought from K2RD by the previous owner. I have GC coilovers with Eibach springs. I run them on 4/8 all the time because I'm too lazy to change them and they seem just fine for me. I don't mind super stiff suspensions, though.

Anybody running Tanabe Gf 210's with something like a 17x8 wheel in a offset around +35 and a 225/45 tire? I've seen a few posts of people complaining of tire rub,and I'm guessing the Gf210's are wound wider(teins are another one) interfering with marginal wheel/tire fitments the stock spring and a few other aftermarket springs(racing beats,RS*R's) clear.

I've had some rub up front a couple of times with 225/50/16 Toyo T1R tires when I was doing some really aggressive cornering.

I got my AGx's from jdmwerks on ebay also!! Im running 215-45-17's on front with no rub 225-45-17's on back. My wheel offset is 40. If you buy the GF210's you need to get the rear camber adjuster!!

Mine came on the track car when I bought it. Running with GC coilovers and 400F/275R Eibach springs (which apparently is about the max spring rate recommended for the AGX). I'm also running the RB sway bar in front and no rear sway bar.

Setting are on 3F/4R (maybe 5R?) and it seems to work pretty well. Car was fairly neutral on the track last weekend (VIR South) although I may play with the rears next time to try and get the back end to sit a little better under heavy braking.

well after driving with this setup for a bit now, i've come to like it at 2/5 for the street.

i've done a few autocross sessions and it's been a little tricky figuring out exactly what setting might be best. some days 3/7 seems to work good if the course is a little slower and bumpier.
but yesterday i started off the day at 3/7 and the car didn't feel all that great. half of this was inadequate tire pressure as i was rolling on the sidewalls since i am running BFG G-Force street tires.
but i cranked the shocks up to 4/8 and that seemed to do the trick. i kind of wish the fronts had a setting between 3 and 4 though.
ah well, this is good enough for now, although if i start doing autocross more seriously i will be tempted to go with a full coilover setup with front camber adjustment...

I run Eibach springs with Racing beat sways on Both FCs.

3/6 all the time in the NA and in the TII. Haven't hit the track this year. Waiting till my TII is finished. I'm still messing with the AGX's to see which setting is best though.

I also have the K2RD kit, which I believe is 350 lb-in F and 225 lb-in R. I run them 3 in the front and 5 in the rear if I recall correctly, I haven't messed with them in a while because the car handles awesome right now. I also have the RB front swaybar and the stock rear bar. I also run -3 degrees of front camber and -2.5 rear, which eats the tires and makes it a little darty on bad roads, but like I said it handles awesome, so...

So I wasn't imaging things, then... I just got new fronts for the first time in a long time and it felt really twitchy to me. The old ones were worn flat on the insides so I guess it negated this, but it felt really weird when I first got them. I got used to it, but the engine died 2 days later (yesterday :( )
