Cable clutch setup

Hey all, I am having some problems with my clutch hydrolic system. I have to replace my master and release cylinder quite often. I think it is my bad luck because I had to do this about 8 times on my 1st gen and I am on number 2 for this 2nd gen.

So, does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit a cable actuated clutch from VW or anyother car that runs a cable clutch system? I think that might be cheaper to replace each time it is needed than buying new parts.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Carl

I don't know of anyone that has done this.
Try and and tell us how it went!

What in the world are you doing to these things? I've driven hundreds of thousands of miles without ever replacing one. How can your luck be that bad that you'd get all the bad ones the rest of us didn't get? Is water getting in the system somehow? How are they failing?

I wish I knew what I was doing. I am getting new ones from Mazda and the replacements for the current ones will be under warranty since I bought them less than a year ago. No water is getting in, they just start leaking. The master cylinder from the rear seal and so it starts to drain inside the car, and the release cylinder leaks from the flexboot.

No one else gets bad ones since i am buying them all. ;)

Nope, only brand new ones from Mazda. I found out early on how bad the generic rebuilds are. Took one day to blow the first ones out. But the ones I am getting from Mazda are new.
