Buying an Rx7

I am looking to buy a 91 rx7, N/A. Right now I have the car my parents gave me, a 91 Mercury Topaz. lol. Anyways, I can sell my car for about 2000. I'm wondering if I can get a 91 rx7 N/a for about 2500 in good condition, or even better, one with a blown engine and then purchase a re-man or rebuilt engine for about the same price. Thanks for any info.

I doubt you will be able to find a 91 in good condition for under 4g's. Just keep looking, and do a lot of research on the car before you cnonsider rushing into it. It is a sport car, must be taken care of and handled like a wild beast.

Widen your search to 89-91 (series V engine), 200 - any miles away, and check all the no-name/no model listed adds and you should find one in great shape .

Know any good places to buy re-man or rebuilt engines for good prices? BTW, I've done a lot of researching. At first, it was kinda like, sure, RX7 would be great. Now I have researched the rotary engines and talked to people and all, and I want one very bad. Only thing is, wanna try to find one with blown motor and put rebuilt one in.

might as well go for a TII with blown engine if you can.

You'll need to look at autotrader.com (& the publication), thepartstrader.com, and and the forsale sections on the rotary websites to find one for cheap though. Seems like the guys who deal in repairing blown rx-7s go to auctions & the junk yards all the time.

Crush....

Fear not.

I routinely buy 1991 cars for under 2K and sell them for 4k

I have two right now.

One is sold and the other is being finished.

Call it a side business.
I do it all the time.

I can find you a car if you like, I do that too.

I can also be available on the phone with you while you check a car and I can walk you through the process.
(its a spinoff of my car checking service)

Most of the time, these cars need about $200-$400 in parts and they sell for 4k.

Let me know if your interested in the one I have left, (1990 black GXL 2+2 factory options loaded -everything but leather-.)

Or if you want another car I can find that for you too.

Yeah Sniper X, how bout finding me a smashed 89-91 TII I can pull from for the TII convertible project :D

Sniper_X 06-04-02 07:39 PM

Well now...

Thats a different story.

There is a 1991 TurboII available I know of in this area, but its supposedly all ready to drive and a solid car.

I think 5K is the price.

But thats not the criterial you requested.
I'll keep my eyes open.

I'm working on how to get reports on totalled cars in the Atlanta area.

I might try searching police reports.
I'll have to find the service that allows that.

I have a 87 GXL w/ blown motor. It's got the leather package. Everything is stock but would make for a good project. If you're interested let me know.
