Buying a 88 TII(need help)
 

OK, My friends uncle has a 88 TII hat was in a mild front end accident a few years ago. He started restoring it but is gonna end up selling it. It doesn't have a title cause the orig owner abandoned it. The uncle has all the paper work needed to get one though.
The eninge hasn't been turned over in a couple years from my knowledge. It needs a new hood and Radiator and front skin for certain.

I was wondering what I should look at when I go to buy this thing. It looks like I can get it for about 2-4 hundred and then a 88 N/a with engine out for free.

Is there anything I can look at to see problems since I won't be able to turn it over?From what I understand the eninge was fine when he got it.It's just been sitting for a while.

Also if anyone is interested in a S4 N/a with the engine out but with it then PM me since I can get it when I get the TII but I don't have any place for it.

Well, I'd definatly pick up that T2, however after sitting for that long, chances are when you turn it over the oil seals are going to be gone (typical) You can try pouring a little oil in each rotor via the spark-plug hole and letting it sit then trying to turn it slowly by hand just to get it lubricated and hope those seals don't go bad, but after a year or two chances are they have. It's still worth it, I think, but it's up to you then. You may want to verify the frame isn't bent (obviously) Other than that I don't know what else you can look for without it running.

If the seals go bad will it damage anything inside? I am planning on rebuilding it later but won't have the money to do it yet.
