Buying a 87 n/a , with pics, few questions
um ... the car has been rebuilt from front to back
the body is 87 sport, had some dent and the guy replaced the door/ fender / bumper 89 engine brand new rebuilt, new trans new intake / 2.5" exhaust new clutch no a/c, no power steering looks good over all here is the problem bad brake, need to replace all 4 rotors fuel line got rust on it, fuel sensor wont work. the guy said the engine need to run 600 miles to break in, and need tune-up afterwards some minor rust, need paint all over the guy selling this car because he got a FD sitting in his garage. how much it would cost me to replace those parts (and how much is the A/C gonna cost me)? we made a deal for $1200, good ? |

Brake rotors can be found for about $76 each at Mazdatrix.com
Installing A/C and power steering on a vehicle without it is going to cost alot if you get it all new, or can be cheap if you find working parts on a car in a junk yard. Still, it will be a major PITA to install some of that stuff. What fuel sensor are you talking about? Fuel sending unit in the tank? Need more info. Fuel lines under the car are exposed and can get dirty. Don't remember off the top of my head if I ever saw a rusty one, but I dont' think I have. Shouldn't be too much $$ to get new ones. Check local parts stores or machine shop to see what it would cost to order new tubes or have them get straight tubes and bend them to fit. Or do it yourself if you know how and have the right tools. Check on steel braided fuel lines too. As long as no rust is in the tank or in the lines, it should be ok for now. Rebuild engine shouldn't need a tune up after a break in. Should need to just change oil and spark plugs. Who rebuild the engine and does it run properly? (idle at 750, no blue, white, or black smoke, no check engine lights) I would offer him $750 or $800 for the car from the description you gave. |
finally it let me post

looks nice!
But I don't know. Santiago |
I got one of my 7s for sale on the Board here, its a better deal then that car hehe

if you can get the info on the 89 engine rebuild, a full brake job is only a couple hundred done by yourself, so you'll have new brakes, a tune up, rebuilt motor, and a good. Call a stainless steel place and see if they can bend some fuel line for u, or you can buy a roll from summit for about 25 bucks and bend it yourself.

thanks alot
the engine is s5 rotor with s4 block i believe, car runs fine, sounds great 5th & 6th port opened and the fuel meter on the dash is always pointed to zero ... how could i fix it, how hard will it be ? actually theres another not running s4 sitting in an old parking lot for like a few months now nobody is touching it, i might just jack the the parts i need from that car... |
