Butchered Radio wiring, going back to stock, Need help.
Ok, I have a 1987 Mazda RX7, currently it apparently had it's radio wiring butchered for another mazda radio setup. I however want to go back to a more stock setup. Below is what I have:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4124/...bb3723f3_z.jpg On the right is what I have, not sure what that's from, and on the left is what I am going to go to, but I'm not exactly sure what it is from. What I need is wiring diagrams for both the unit and my 1987 Coupe Non-turbo. and the wiring diagram for whatever Stock FC unit I have. I'm also probably going to need a partial harness if any one has one for sale or is will to donate. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also the radio surround I have in my coupe will not work, I'm going to need the wider one, which one do I need. |
heres all the colors for the wires and what they do.

Ok, I've been slightly dumb on this, but I checked out mazdatrix for some inspiration, and I found out I'm going to need the 86-88 stereo panel for units with cd. Apparently I have a series 4 CD player unit. Which makes this easier, but I still am going to need to have the appropriate harness plugs reinstalled, which I'm not sure where I'm going to get those.

You may have to get a Full dash harness.
Post up a WTB thread. ..Also,I Had a 1988 that had Just the Cassette/eq/Radio Combo. I thought the CD players came out in S5's?.(If I am wrong,I apologize). |
that AE was stock
I guess its cool you are putting OEM radio back in, but honestly it is so ancient and sucky why go to all the trouble? What I did before I put gauges in was unscrew ONLY the factory CD player from that set and a aftermarket radio will screw right into the stock chassis. It will retain that stock appearance but give you far superior technology such as MP3, sat radio, USB or hard drive, and plenty of preouts for amps. |
