Burning Out!!!
Does anybody have a special technique on burning out? How do you burn out in a 2nd gen TII or N/A? I've seen cool videos of FC's burn rubber while they are spinning in circles. How is this performed (off course with the proper safety procedures)? Post how YOU like to rip up the road!!!

I don't.  It's a waste of tires.

Floor the engine up to redline with the clutch in, and the the tranny in first gear. Drop the clutch at redline. If you wanna go circles, turn the wheel hard any driection. If you wanna do them more slowly, or burn out longer, hit the brakes with your left foot as soon as you let the cltuch out. This is a brake stand.
Keep the engine floored, and if you get up 500 past redline, try a shift to second (gotta be mad quik on that one, yo!) Applying bleach to the tires before hand will break down the outer layer of rubber, and create huge amounts of blue smoke. Some people have been known to hook up an old windshield washer system to spray bleach driectly onto the front of the tires for this specific purpose. Sean Cathcart |

The reason I say that is I try to buy the BEST tires I can afford for my FC.  This goes into mating with my build suspension - crappy tires with a build suspension is no fun. :(
I feel burning up tires that cost me $200 a pop quite a waste of money... :D -Ted |
Same way over here.
If I know I am gonna be roasting some rubber though, I mount the old tires with the stock rims. Otherwise, I won't waste my 225 17's. Sean Cathcart |
i think its a personal thing, i kinda like doing burnouts with any car as long as its not mine, you should see my moms 2002 windstar...It needs the handbreak to make some nice smoke though
